Operations Manager

Monica Zuluaga

“In January 2021, I joined Bluefield as an Assistant Portfolio Manager after working for over six years in client management in the solar industry. I was eager to gain hands-on experience in day-to-day site management and learn about the other aspects of solar O&M. However, during this time, my family went through a very tragic situation, and I was diagnosed with ADHD which was overwhelming but also brought a sense of relief and understanding. Bluefield was incredibly supportive at every level. Thanks to the flexibility and help given to work under difficult personal circumstances, plus implementing Access to Work, a government program aimed at helping employees overcome workplace-related barriers, I was able to develop new strategies to manage my symptoms. I saw an immediate change and positive impact which was recognized by the company and my colleagues.

Today, after only two years, I have been promoted twice and I am now the Operations Manager of Bluefield Operations. I have been able to bring my experience, creativity, and unique perspective to the table, contributing to the company’s overall success. I feel heard and trusted in my decisions, and I am empowered every day to be true to myself.”

Investment Manager

Manuel Ortiz-Olave

“I joined Bluefield as an analyst in 2017. My primary responsibilities were maintaining investor relationships, marketing and data management. However, Bluefield recognises ambition and gave me the opportunity to learn about other areas of the business.

I have always been interested in investments and Bluefield gave me exposure to the valuation of projects, financial modelling and new funds. Not only this, but I was encouraged to undergo training, with Bluefield funding financial courses and now my certification for the Chartered Financial Institute, which I am currently working towards level 3.

Since joining Bluefield, my understanding of investments, acquisitions and project management has increased greatly. I have been promoted to Investment Manager and help the business launch new funds in multiple countries through fundraising, project finance and deal sourcing, now leading acquisitions in new markets.”

Engineering Manager

Oliver Creagh

“After graduating with a Masters in Renewable Energy Engineering from the University of Exeter, I joined Bluefield Services in 2019 as a Monitoring and Performance Engineer. I was responsible for a portfolio of 140MW of solar farms, where I worked closely with the Asset Management and Operations teams, and gained invaluable experience of performance analysis, remote monitoring systems, and energy engineering. I was supported by the business to progress to Senior Engineer and then Monitoring Manager, where I developed my leadership and people management skills, whilst continuing to develop technically.

From there I moved to the Engineering team, where I have recently been promoted to Engineering Manager. In this role I am responsible for managing our technical advisory and due-diligence services to support Bluefield’s growth of new build solar and battery energy storage, as well as operational acquisitions.

I am working towards my Chartered Engineer registration with the Institution of Engineering and Technology. Bluefield has been very encouraging of this. Supporting with membership fees, an annual training budget, and ensuring I have exposure to projects that allow me to demonstrate the competencies required to achieve professional registration.”

Investment Manager

Nunzia Pignataro

After completing my law degree, I joined Bluefield in 2016 as a document manager and paralegal. Bluefield offered me the opportunity to study for my Legal Practice Course and support me whilst I completed my training to become a qualified solicitor.

During my two-year training contract, Bluefield not only gave me exposure to new areas of the business but also allowed me time to work on my studies. I received encouragement from the entire team, my supervisor and the Managing Partners. They gave me the flexibility needed to successfully complete my studies while ensuring that I was receiving excellent legal training.

Further to the exposure with M&A transactions through several years as Legal Counsel, Bluefield supported me in the transition from a purely legal role to an Investment Manager role. I am now focused on completing transactions from all angles, whilst applying the legal expertise gained so far.
